Editorial policy
How we decide what to publish, which sources we trust, and how we handle mistakes.
By the SGOVResource.com editorial team Last reviewed How we calculate Editorial policy
Sources
We prefer primary sources: the fund’s issuer (iShares/BlackRock) for fund facts and distributions, the US Treasury and SEC for official information, and each issuer’s own documents for peer funds. When we rely on a secondary source we say so next to the figure. We never treat a competitor website as a source of truth for financial data.
Fact-checking
- Numbers in articles are pulled from the same validated data files as the data pages, so they update together.
- Hand-entered figures (such as peer expense ratios and the annual tax percentage) carry a “checked on” date and a link to where they were verified.
- Calculator formulas are covered by automated tests before each release.
Independence and conflicts
We accept no payment from fund companies or brokerages and run no affiliate links. If that ever changes, affected pages will disclose it clearly.
Expertise and review
Articles are written by the SGOVResource.com editorial team. We do not invent author biographies or credentials. If a qualified professional reviews a page in future, the page will name them and their credentials.
Updates
Data-driven figures refresh automatically. Explanatory content is reviewed when the fund, tax rules or market structure change, and each page shows its last-updated date.
Corrections
Email contact@sgovresource.com with the page and the issue. We review every report and fix confirmed errors promptly. Significant corrections will be noted here.
