What the holdings tell you

Treasury bills are short-term IOUs from the US government sold at a discount and repaid at face value at maturity. The difference is the interest. Because SGOV’s bills mature within weeks, the fund constantly reinvests at current rates, which is why its yield adjusts quickly when the Federal Reserve moves. The 1 non-Treasury line (for example cash or a money market fund) cover day-to-day liquidity needs.

The average yield to maturity of the holdings is 4.00%, before the fund’s expenses. Market values are as reported by iShares; prices of individual bills are quoted per $100 of face value (the latest largest holding was priced at $99.50).
